On June 25, 2001 we experienced a freak summer rain. Out of no where, a beautiful
double rainbow appeared over the Blach camp school.

You've got to wonder about the tractor driver doing the demolition job at the old school.
His SUPER COOL Cat 963C Loader
has some interesting stickers on it. He's either crazy,
or he really loves his job. Maybe both... (7/19/01).
Check out the tractor and you decide.
We've got Tractor movies. We've got it all!
On 7/20/01 the contractor started bulldozing of the R14-R19 wing. !

See the carnage
This set of still images were taken on 7/28/01 just after the demolition of the PE Bldg.
Other shots in this series are of gutted Library/Science and Music/Drama Bldg's, and some new
landscaping of the camp school.

THE OLD GLUMAZ ORCHARD
Overlooking the vast construction project is something that's
located on campus, but several years older then the school it's self.
No, it's not a tree. it's one of the
original irrigation fountain pipes that once
supplied water to the old Glumaz Orchard. The orchard was in operation
from the early 1950's until Mr. Glumaz sold to a developer in the mid 1970's.
Read more about the Glumaz Apricot Orchard.
** UPDATE **
I'm sad to report that the historic irrigation fountain pipe was damaged beyond repair
during installation of the new irrigation system. It appears that the preservation information
failed to reach the sub contractor that was doing the new irrigation work.

About half the classrooms are sheet rocked. Some are even textured and the tiles
are stacked and ready to be installed. The walk during this photo shoot was still
very rough, with numerous large holes and obstacles in all of the walkways.
Some staff has indicated they would like to tour the new school, but I can
verify it's still a major hazard navigating between buildings.
