The Glumaz Apricot Orchard
shared the property line at the back of Blach Jr. High
School and was a tempting source of fresh fruit for Blach students
that dared to hop the four foot wire fence.
The Glumaz Apricot Orchard was purchased by the developer Mackay & Somps
Civil Engineers in 1967. They developed the several acre parcel known as the
Oakview subdivision, that now consists of homes on:
Buckingham Dr., Runnymead Dr., Runnymead Ct., Dartmouth Ln., Suffolk Wy.,
Suffolk Ct., Eastwood Ct, and part of Eastwood Dr. In the center of the the
Glumaz Orchard was a deep well that supplied water to his fruit trees. The pump
and well are still in operation between Dartmouth Ln. and the end of Runnymead Ct.
and owned by the Ca Water Co.
