Sports:
Yes, it is true, Blach used to have cheerleaders. Blach was involved in a lot of school spirit as well.

Almost all of the Blach newspapers used to have one or more large section on Blach's sports teams.

The Big Game:
School Spirit is high as Blach plays the Covington Cougers. Even though Blach lost this big first game of flag football 7-12 in the "A" game, and 0-7 in the "B" game, school spirit was still roaring high. Cheerleaders and pom-pom girls of Blach's spirit squad kept the team's spirits high as they played. They recited the Blach cheer: "The Falcon Fight Song", to the tune of Wisconsin:
Fight you falcons,
Fight you falcons,
Fight and win this game,
As we cheer you,
Make them fear you,
Win, and bring us fame! (Loudly, you Rah Rah)
Fight on falcons,
Fight on falcons,
Show them all Blach's might.
Green and white,
Shall wave tonight,
So fight, fight, fight!
This song came to be when the Student Council had two songs to choose from as the school song, both written by the school's Glee club: The "Falcon Fight Song", and "Cheer, Cheer for Blach Junior High, to the tune of Cheer, Cheer for Old Norte Dame:
Cheer, Cheer for Blach Junior High,
We raise our voices up to the sky,
Ever faithful, ever true,
Our loyalty is red, white, and blue.
Blach students try to do what is right,
Inall our games we get in a fight,
Sportsmanship will be our call,
For Blach is the best of all.
Blach Junior High will rate at the top,
Our student body, no one can top,
Up the average is our creed,
All our opponents we will lead.
Our school is one we are proud to attend,
Students that follow this message we send:
"Pay attention, do what's right,
and our get in a fight."
The student council chose the "Falcon Fight Song" to be the school song.
Dance Music:
Up until the early 80's, Blach had live bands play at their concert instead of a DJ.
