The Blach Gym was officialy ready for student use at the same time as Egan's new gym. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2pm during an assembly for students, then another ceremony at 7:30pm for everyone else, on December 10, 1979. The actual dedication wasn't until after the Holidays.

The main eating area used to be where P2 is now.

Here is the beginning of the construction of the Science/Library wing. The part of the wooden stage shown used to be used as the stage for the graduation ceremony.

Bell Jet Ranger II Choppers flying over blach school in October 1981 spraying Malathion Insecticide to kill the Med Fly. There is an article in the October 1981 issue of the Jabber's Journal about using insecticides on the Med Fly. They interviewed students and staff asking them if they think the insecicide is working, a majority of them said no. Besides, the spray made the people miserable too, for 13 months, people had to stay inside with the windows closed as much as possible.

The choppers came back in 1989, to finish off the Med Fly. Eric Tofsrud, the photographer of the picture, still has spots on his camera from when the poison misted down over Blach School.
