History of Blach's Fashion
Fashion Shows:
Blach's home economics class, which all girl students were required to take, often had fashion shows to show off their newest design in clothing
To the left is a picture fom a themed fashion show, held on Valentines Day at 3:30pm by the 8th grade home economics class. All the clothing was made and designed by eighth grade girls. The fashion show included one and two piece dresses, blouses, and skirts.

"Blach girls to show chic handmade wear". June 1, 1966:
Again, the eighth grade girls modeled "Chic Handmade Wear" at the Awalt Commons, 7pm, June 1st, 1966. This fashion show was their last fashion show of the year before their graduation on June 15th, and was appropriately named "Bon Voyage". It was sponsered by the P.T.A.
May 18, 1867, 7:00pm:
Here is another of Blach's fashion shows. This time, however, it is a little more advanced. It was held at Blach school. The young ladies served refreshment following the show. The show was held at the same time as the Blach school installation of officers, so that both could be done at the same time.

Then and now:
In the 1970's at Blach, the following styles were popular: Purses, lockers (instead of backpacks), platforms, chokers, bell bottoms, and long hair.
In the 1990's at Blach, the following styles are popular: Backpacks (rarely used lockers), open toe sandals (and some platforms have made a comeback), chokers (also back again from the 70's), comfortable jeans, short hair, beannies, and beepers.
As you can see from this, it seemed that a lot of things have revived at Blach since the 70's. Besides the bell bottoms, and a few editions in technology, retro is coming back. However, people seem to be in a lot more of a hurry now than they were then, like using backpacks instead of lockers.
