First Semester The 7th Grade Strings uses the books All
for
Strings Book 2. We will also soon begin learning our major
scales
and extending our knowledge of theory. These students will meet 2nd
period,
there are presently 21 members enrolled in this class. There will
be a few rehearsals on Wednesdays before school and possibly one or two
after school, before the performances. Second Semester This group is performing our upcoming February Concert. Our next performance will be the adjudication in Valencia. We will perform our adjudication music at our end of year concert at Foothill College in the Smithwick Theater. The last event for this group is the Graduation Ceremony on June 13, at Blach 12:45-2:00. This is a mandatory performance for all 7th grade students. | Parents are requested to supply the following for this class: Instrument with 4 fine tuners, one on each string, shoulder pad-Kun (preferred) or Wolf ($30), rosin, technique books (order through school or jwpepper.com), Uniform (see Uniforms page), system for transporting instruments to and from school. $45 materials fee. |
