Band) Evening rehearsal 7:30-8:30 with the Foothill Wind
Symphony. We will play 2 songs with them and then hear them play
a song for us. Parents are encouraged to attend as audience. January 30, “Band Bash” (8th Band) 3:30-8:00pm. Concert 7-8. MVHS Band-8th grade only “Band Bash” With Graham and Crittenden at Mountain View HS Theater. Dinner is provided for students. February 6, “String Fling” (8th Strings) 3:30-8:00pm. Concert 7-8. MVHS Strings-8th grade only “String Fling” With Graham at Mountain View HS Theater. Dinner is provided for students. March 1, Saturday CMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival at San Jose State, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Various assigned times. Students who signed up, students selected to work in an ensemble. We will know our assigned times 2 weeks before the event. San Jose State Music Building. March 5, 8:00am, 7th Grade Band combined Rehearsal March 10, 7th Grade Strings rehearsal 3:00-4:00 This rehearsal is combined with the 6th grade strings from Springer, Oak, and Loyola. We have invited them to join us on this concert. March 12, 8:00am, 7th Grade Band combined Rehearsal March 12, Blach 7th Grade Concert, (6th Strings invitational) 7:00-8:30, Concert starts at 7:30 March 13, Assembly E Period March 13, Blach 8th Grade Concert 7:00-8:30, Concert starts at 7:30 April 9, Jazz Concert at Egan, Be there at 6:30. April 24, 6:00-7:15 pm, 8th Strings and Band Rehearsal for "Festival of the Falcon" April 25, 50th Birthday for Blach. 8th grade groups perform 5:30-6:30 pm. April 26, California State CMEA Competition (8th Grade Band) 7-11:00am, CSUEB, Hayward. April 30, 8:00am 7th Band Rehearsal for Magic Mountain Trip May 3, California State CMEA Competition (8th Grade Strings) 7:00am-Noon, East Avenue Middle School, Pleasanton May 7, 8:00am, 7th Band Rehearsal for Magic Mountain Trip May 9-10, Music in the Parks Festival-Valencia (7th grade trip) (Magic Mountain), 1-nite. Leaves early Friday Morning returns Saturday at midnight. May 16-18, Music in the Parks Festival-Anaheim (8th grade trip) (Disneyland), 2-nites, Leaves early Friday Morning Returns Sunday at 7:00pm May 23, Jazz Jamboree A jazz concert in the grass by the multi. Bring a picnic dinner and blanket to sit on. Enjoy watcing our wonderful 6th, Blach Jazz groups as you eat. May 31, Jazz Festival at Mountain View High School, Time=TBA June 5, Blach Concert (7th and 8th Strings and Bands) 7:00-9:00pm Smithwick Theater at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Rd. June 11, Graduation (All 7th Grade Music Students-Band and Strings) 12:45-2:00pm All 7th grade Band and String students must participate. This is not an optional activity, all 7th grade music students are expected to participate in this final graded event. We will rehearse for this event during the morning in the Quad. |
