Academic Eligibility:  A student athlete must be committed first to maintaining the academic demands placed on them while at Blach in order to participate on after school sports teams.  A student athlete may have no grade below a C- when progress reports are due (mid-quarter grades) or at the end of any quarter.  If a grade does fall below a C- that student athlete will not be eligible to play on any after school sports team for a two week period.  At the end of this period a grade check with all classes will be made to determine if they have regained their eligibility.  Any tryouts held during this two week period would make that student athlete ineligible to be selected on a team during that season.

School Attendance:  A student athlete must attend at least a half-day of classes to be eligible for tryouts, practices and/or games.  If a student does not attend at least a half-day of classes, he or she will be prohibited from participating in a tryout, practice or game on the respective day(s).

Physical Education:  A student athlete that has been excused from his or her Physical Education class will be prohibited from participating in a tryout, practice or game on the respective day(s).

Playing Time in After School Sports:  It has been and will always be Blach’s policy to hire coaches to encourage as much playing time for each individual as possible while still being competitive with the other nine schools in the league.  Please note though that this league is highly competitive and there is no league rules regarding playing time.  Many schools that we compete against often will play only a portion of their athletes predominately during games.  With this in mind our coaches are instructed to play all their players during the regular season but during playoffs the emphasis will shift more  to the competitive side and may reduce the amount of time each athlete participates.
