We are so excited to share with you that Blach has been selected for the 2019 Asset Champion Award in the Caring Middle School Category by Project Cornerstone. Project Cornerstone is a Silicon Valley initiative of YMCA with core mission of helping the youth in our community thrive using the Developmental Assets Model-research based model of positive values, relationships, experiences and skills that children and teens need to thrive.

We are deeply gratified to receive this honor in the service of creating an environment for our students to feel connected, capable and cared for. It is  a strong testament to the dedication of our thoughtful teachers and staff to empowering student voice and to our partnership with YOU, our amazing parent community.

We will be receiving this award at the 2019 Asset Champions Awards Breakfast event on March 28.

Our Leadership class is organizing a toy drive through the local chapter of Toys for Tots organization. It is a homeroom competition running from December 3-December 18. In each homeroom, there is a poster with a tree, where a student can pull a star that has information about the recipient. When the student brings the gift into their homeroom, they will add an ornament to their tree, and the homeroom with the most gifts/ornaments will win a pizza party.

Parents can also just drop off gifts in the main office. The gifts must be new and unwrapped. We will be bringing them to Toys for Tots on the 18th.

The Holiday Faire is a great opportunity for students to create, market, and sell a product of their own design. It is a revered Blach tradition that celebrates student creativity and entrepreneurship!

Fellow students and members of the community flock to the Faire to purchase fun and unique handcrafted treasures, gifts and treats created specially by the students.

Informational meeting for students on Wednesday, October 3rd at 8:30 am in the Multi. For more information, please visit the Holiday Faire website.

The Holiday Faire is on Friday, December 7th, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
