We would like to interview groups of kids to feature in the video this Wed and Fri in Mrs. Hickman's room at lunchtime. No more than 10 kids in a room at a
time. The questions will be things like your favorite movie, what do you want to be when you grow up, best music, funniest thing that happened at Blach, greatest achievement of your life so far etc. Don't miss out - we want to know what you think about life in the 8th grade and this will be a great momento for you in the years to come. Falcon Feed: The creative writing class has published its second issue of the semester, and it is now available on Blach’s website. Issue 8 is sure to entertain, so check out Falcon Feed today and see the creative writing pieces and beautiful illustrations. Art students, we enjoyed your wonderful illustrations. Keep them coming! Congratulations and good luck to Andrew D. for his qualification to the state Mathcounts competition to be held at Stanford University tomorrow. Students from all over that state will be competing for top honors and selection to the national team. It is a huge honor to make it to state- so kudos to Andrew! GO FALCONS

The anxiously awaited WHIPPED CREAM TOWERS competition will be held today in the quad at lunch. All homerooms should plan to send 2 representations and be ready to get dressed in protective trash bags and shower caps. Mr Kane and Mr Julio will be our judges.

Good luck to our girls soccer and boys basketball teams who go up against Cupertino today. The 7th grade teams travel while the 8th grade teams play at home. 

 


Noon league soccer this week is Chron vs. Harris that will be played on Tuesday (tomorrow). Please have all players on the field by 1pm.

In an exciting game last Thursday for Noon League soccer, Ramirez and Hu ended regulation with a tie. An overtime period will take place this Wednesday on the field.

Have you ever wanted to be in a Youtube performance? If you do, this week there will be auditions for roles in “The S.A.P. Crew” at lunch in room B3. Everyday at lunch there will be an audition for a different part:

Today’s audition will be for the role of Marshall Ripley Tuesday: Hailey Ashton
Wednesday: Ashwin Taylor
Thursday: Chloe Paisley

Friday: Sky Holly

This past Sturday Blach’s chorus participated in a workshop with the Cantabile Choirs and schools from Los Altos, Palo Alto and Menlo Park. They sang in a group of more than 300 singers, under the directions of Boston Children’s Chorus Director Anthony Trecek-King. Their representation of Blach earned kudos from audience members and local choir directors. Congratulations on a terrific performance.

7th Grade Boys Basketball defeated Kennedy yesterday 51-29. Great offense by Jake and Saiyash. Great defense by Luca, Eric, and Krish. 

 


Just a reminder that Ramirez will play Hu today in Noon League. The game will begin at 1:10.

The gaming group that usually meets in Mrs Honigman’s room at lunch will NOT be able to meet today.

The 7th grade girls defeated Hyde yesterday 5 to 0.

The 8th grade boys basketball team won their match against an undefeated Hyde 52- 50.
James D. made a game winning lay-up as the time expired. Great teamwork by all of the boys

Tennis tryouts for today are still on since there is a good chance the courts will dry by 3:00. If you signed up, come out to the courts with your racket and shoes by 3:10. 

 


The next Noon League game this week will be not be until THURSDAY due to a Tuesday conflict. It will be Ramirez vs Hu out on the field. If you haven’t played a Noon League game yet, DON’T WORRY. You are still in the competition and you will get your turn very soon. We are only able to play on one field, so we still have teams that will be scheduled in the next few weeks.

Attention, please, students and staff members:
Today at lunch, you are invited to eat your lunch while watching Dance Spectrum perform in the city gym. Seating on the bleachers is first come, first served, so walk there ASAP if you are interested in seeing this multi-faceted high school performance. If you watch, remember to display your usual respectful behavior and leave no trash behind.
