Blach Athletics

Hi Falcon Families!

We are excited to announce that our first athletic season will begin in just one week!

First, please meet our new Athletic Directors, Steven Schynert and Michele Kibble!

Steven is an Instructional Assistant at Blach and has coached baseball at Mountain View High School for the past four years. Michele is a 2nd grade teacher at Covington Elementary and has worked with Mountain View High School’s sports programs over the past four years. We are excited to work with Blach’s athletes and coaches this year!

Sign-up sheets for Season 1 sports will be posted in the boys’ and girls’ locker rooms on Monday, August 17. If your student would like to participate in one of these sports, please sign up by Thursday, August 20. Coaches will be notified of their rosters on Friday, August 21.

Basketball and softball tryouts will begin on Monday, August 24. Coaches will hold tryouts for 2–3 days, depending on the number of athletes who participate. Cross country practice will begin on Monday, August 24. Once teams are formed, coaches will provide athletes and families with more specific information about practice schedules.

All games are listed on the Valley Junior High School Website. Once your athlete is on a team, their coach will provide more specific information about game days, practice schedules, and how to sign-up with the city of Los Altos.

Your student’s coach will communicate ways you can support the team. Coaches will be looking for team parents, drivers to help with carpools, and parents to help keep track of uniforms. Please also be aware that all school districts have new volunteer requirements. Please review the LASD Volunteer Requirements, as these requirements will be enforced beginning December 2026.

We are excited to partner with you and build a strong athletics program at Blach! Please plan to come out to our games, meets, and matches throughout the year to cheer on our student-athletes.
