Welcome to Blach Intermediate School!

Blach Intermediate School has a long history of providing an exceptional education to 7th and 8th graders in the Los Altos School district. While a rigorous academic program is provided, the entire Blach staff also makes it a priority to connect and build positive developmental relationships with all students. With care and push, teachers help students reach their best selves- inside and outside the classroom. Our relatively small enrollment allows all students to be seen, valued and known.

Blach students enjoy a well-rounded core curriculum as well as a wide variety of elective courses. Students can participate in the visual and performing arts, STEM based courses, and other classes that help students learn about content, themselves and their vast potential.

Blach enjoys a strong partnership with its Parent Teacher Association, the PTA. Blach’s PTA assists in building a strong community and providing support to supplement every student’s educational experience. The Los Altos Education Foundation, also known as LAEF, is another critical partner. LAEF provides the funding that keeps our elective courses, library and mental health services available to all students. Finally, our own Blach families form the backbone of Blach’s team, working together with staff to deliver the very best to all of our students.

It fills me with great pride to have the role of Blach’s principal. I truly love collaborating with everyone for the betterment of our students. Mostly, I love working and interacting with our students who are super capable, empathetic and passionate about their interests. There’s no place I’d rather be and there’s no better feeling than being a Blach Falcon!
